Cardinal Numbers.—Números Cardinales.

Two numbers coming together in an inverted order in English, are translated by placing the highest in the first place; thus,

Three and twenty. |Veinte y tres.

Eleven hundred,fifteen hundred, and the like expressions, are always translated, one thousand one hundred, one thousand five hundred, &c.; thus,mil y ciento,mil y quinientos, and notonce cientos, &c.

The wordso’clockare omitted in reference to the hours of the day, which are expressed by the cardinal numbers, preceded by the articlelasorlawith reference touna, one; as,
