Plastic Crochet Hook Size J OR ANY SIZE HOOK WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW

MAT
With White ch 44, s c in 2nd st from hook, * ch 1, skip next st of ch, s c in next st, repeat from * across ch, ch 1 to turn all rows.2nd ROW: S c in 1st s c, * working over next ch 1, s c in skipped st of starting ch pulling st up to level of row being worked (long s c), s c in next s c, repeat from * across row.3rd ROW: S c in 1st s c, * ch 1, skip next s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * across row.4th ROW: S c in 1st s c, * working over ch 1, long s c in skipped s c of row below, s c in next s c, repeat from * across row. Repeat 3rd and 4th rows 16 times, cut yarn (36 rows).EDGE: With wrong side of last row toward you, attach Lt. Rose in last st, ch 3, 6 d c in same st (corner shell); working down side of mat, * skip next 2 rows, sl st on side of next row, skip next 2 rows, 5 d c in next row (shell), repeat from * to 3rd row before next corner, 7 d c in base of corner st; working on opposite side of starting ch, * skip next 2 sts, sl st in next st, skip next 2 sts, 5 d c in next st, repeat from * across row; work remaining sides and corners to correspond, join, do not turn, cut yarn.2nd ROW: Attach Dk. COASTER
With White ch 8, work same as mat for 8 rows, cut yarn, do not turn.EDGE: Attach Lt. Rose in 1st st, 7 d c shell in same space, skip next 3 sts, sl st in next st, 7 d c shell in last st, working down side, sl st in space between 4th and 5th rows, 7 d c shell in next corner st, work remaining sides and corners to correspond, join, cut yarn.2nd ROW: Attach Dk.
