The lady Hele of Devon gave by her will 800li.per annum to be layd out for charitable uses and by the advice and prudence of serjeant Maynard[1148]. He did order it[1149]according to the best of his understanding, and yet he sayd that he haz lived to see every one of these benefactions abused—quod N. B.
