’Tis observable, that at every leading of the treble the two hind bells dodg; and whensoever thehalf-huntdodgeth there, abobmust then be made, except thequarter-huntdodgeth there with it, and then not; which is an infallible rule, by which he that rings thehalf-huntmay always give notice of thebobsas well when the peal is inverted, as in the ordinary way of ringing it. Thebobsfall out in course single and double, the one single, the next double; and so by turns; there being three singlebobsand three doublebobsin theeighteenscore, and consequently six of each in the 720.

The aforesaid method being observed, will carry on the course of the peal to the end ofeighteenscore, which is just half the 720, and then it terminates, as appears in theeighteenscorehere prickt: but by making anextreamthat number may be doubled; for theneighteenscorechanges more will go in course according to the former method; and anotherextreambeing likewise made at the end of the lasteighteenscorewill compleat the 720. The manner of making anextreamI have shewed at large in theIntroduction,page90.where I have also set down a general rulefor making them, to which I refer.

The firstextreammay be made either the first, second, or third time that the half and quarterhuntsdodg behind; or else at the first, second, or third singlebob; at either of which places thesinglemust be made behind.

Here areeighteenscorechanges wanting one, which one if it were made double as the former, would bring the bells round, therefore anextreammust be made as in this change 123465, the two hind bells making theextream, and the bells in the3dand4thplaces making thesingle. Now in regard that thisextreamis made the second time thewhole-huntleads after a doublebob, therefore the secondextreammust be made the second time thewhole-huntleads after the third doublebobfollowing.

This peal may be rung with anyhunts, and to begin the changestripleanddoubleas in this here prickt.
