CompetitionsAPremiumof Ten Guineas will be awarded in 1840 for the best plan and description ofLondonunder the dominion of the Romans.APremiumof Ten Guineas will be awarded in November, 1840, for the best Historical Memoir ofMary Sydney, CountessofPembroke; and in November, 1841, for the best account of the Life and Benefactions ofSir Bartholomew Reed, Founder of the Free Grammar School at Cromer.All the Works sent in for competition, whether successful or not, will remain the property of the contributors; but the umpires reserve to themselves the option of depositing in the British Museum, or other Public Library, such Manuscripts as are not intended by the authors for immediate publication.The conditions and further particulars may be obtained at Crosby Hall; or from Messrs. Smith, Elder, and Co., 65, Cornhill.
