For fastening barb-wires to the post nothing has been found so satisfactory as staples made for the purpose from No. 9 steel wire. They are cut with sharp points to drive easily into the posts, and are of different lengths, from one inch and a quarter to one and three-quarters.Figures 72and73show the usual staples for wire, andfigure 74a staple made specially for strap fencing.
