A RHYME OF A KITTEN.

A RHYME OF A KITTEN.

MY KITTEN.

MY KITTEN.

MY KITTEN.

This is a rhyme about my kitten,The prettiest kitten that ever purred.I’ll write all about her thatcanbe written,And you may believe it, every word.On each fore-paw is a soft white mitten;On each hind-paw is a black fur boot;And as for the rest, this dainty kittenWears an elegant silky striped suit.All through the summer, this sprightly kittenBrought me the spoils of her grace and skill:A gay green grasshopper she had lit on,A tiny toad from the side of the hill.And once this in-con-sid-er-ate kitten,While I was taking a two-minute nap,Brought a small brown mouse that she had bitten,And came and jumped right into my lap!But when comes winter, this idle kitten,Forgetting her hunts mid hill and grove,Will cover her nose with one white mitten,And sleep all day behind the stove!

This is a rhyme about my kitten,The prettiest kitten that ever purred.I’ll write all about her thatcanbe written,And you may believe it, every word.

This is a rhyme about my kitten,

The prettiest kitten that ever purred.

I’ll write all about her thatcanbe written,

And you may believe it, every word.

On each fore-paw is a soft white mitten;On each hind-paw is a black fur boot;And as for the rest, this dainty kittenWears an elegant silky striped suit.

On each fore-paw is a soft white mitten;

On each hind-paw is a black fur boot;

And as for the rest, this dainty kitten

Wears an elegant silky striped suit.

All through the summer, this sprightly kittenBrought me the spoils of her grace and skill:A gay green grasshopper she had lit on,A tiny toad from the side of the hill.

All through the summer, this sprightly kitten

Brought me the spoils of her grace and skill:

A gay green grasshopper she had lit on,

A tiny toad from the side of the hill.

And once this in-con-sid-er-ate kitten,While I was taking a two-minute nap,Brought a small brown mouse that she had bitten,And came and jumped right into my lap!

And once this in-con-sid-er-ate kitten,

While I was taking a two-minute nap,

Brought a small brown mouse that she had bitten,

And came and jumped right into my lap!

But when comes winter, this idle kitten,Forgetting her hunts mid hill and grove,Will cover her nose with one white mitten,And sleep all day behind the stove!

But when comes winter, this idle kitten,

Forgetting her hunts mid hill and grove,

Will cover her nose with one white mitten,

And sleep all day behind the stove!
