New Cross-stitch Pattern.This pattern is adapted for a quilt or light wrapper.—Eight-thread fleecy,—say ponceau and white, or scarlet and drab.—Needles, No. 2, pointed at both ends.Cast on any number of stitches with theponceau.First row—knit one, turning the wool twice round the needle.—Repeat.Second row—join on thewhitewool, at the commenced end of the first row,—knit one;(a) knit two together, turning the wool twice round the needle.—Repeat from (a).Third row—withponceau,—knit two together, turning the wool twice round the needle.—Repeat.Fourth row—withwhite,—pearl one;(b) pearl two together, turning the wool twice round the needle.—Repeat from (b).Fifth row—withponceau,—knit one;(c) pearl two together, turning the wool twice round the needle.—Repeat from (c).Repeat fromsecond row.
