Thoroughly bruise the granate bark and pumpkin-seed, and with the ergot boil in eight ounces of water for fifteen minutes, and strain through a coarse cloth. Rub up well the croton oil and extract of male fern with the acacia, and form into an emulsion with the decoction. Take at one dose at 10 o’clock in the morning, having eaten no breakfast and having taken a full dose of Rochelle salts the previous night.
