CHAP. LXI.Of Vestal Water, orEau de Vestale.

Thisis a very agreeable Water, and has been long in use in several Parts ofEurope.

Take of the Seeds of Daucus Creticus or Candy Carrots, two Ounces; Spirit of Wine a Gallon; Water two Quarts. Distil in Balneum MariƦ till the Faints begin to rise. Then add to the Spirit drawn over an Ounce of the Essence of Lemons, and four Drops of the Essence of Ambergrise; redistil in Balneum MariƦ, and keep the Water in Bottles well stoped for use.
