Groups of Years

Groups of YearsAs has been indicated, the years were formed into groups. Thirteen years constituted axiumalpilli(bundle), and four of these anexiuhilpilitztli(complete binding of the years). Each year had thus a double aspect, first as an individual period of time, and secondly as a portion of the “year of the sun,” and these were so numbered and named that each year in the series of fifty-two possessed a different description.
