CHAPTER V.

18:1AND when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about half an hour.8:2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and there were given them seven trumpets.8:3And another angel came and stood by the altar, having a golden censer, and there was given him much incense to present with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne.8:4And a cloud of incense ascended with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God.8:5And the angel took the censer and filled it from the fire of the altar, and cast it on the earth; and there were thunders and lightning and voices and an earthquake.

28:6And the seven angels having the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.8:7And the first sounded; and there was hail and fire mingled with blood, and it was cast on the earth; and a third part of the earth was consumed, and a third part of the trees were consumed, and all the green grass was consumed.

38:8And the second angel sounded; and the appearance of a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea; and a third part of the sea became blood,8:9and a third part of the creatures in the sea having life died, and a third part of the ships were destroyed.

48:10And the third angel sounded; and there fell from heaven a great star, burning like a lamp, and it fell on a third part of the rivers and on the fountains of waters.8:11And the name of the star was called Bitterness. And a third part of the waters became bitter, and many men died by the waters, because they were bitter.

58:12And the fourth angel sounded; and a third part of the sun was smitten, and a third part of the moon, and a third part of the stars, and a third part of them were darkened, and the day did not appear a third part of it, nor the night.8:13And I saw, and heard an eagle flying in the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to those who live on the earth on account of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound.

69:1And the fifth angel sounded; and I saw a star fall from heaven to the earth, and there was given him the key of the pit of the abyss.9:2And he opened the pit of the abyss; and there arose up a smoke from the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.9:3And from the smoke went out locusts on the earth, and power was given them like the power which scorpions of the earth have.9:4And it was told them not to injure the grass of the earth nor any green thing nor any tree, but the men who had not the seal of God on their foreheads.9:5And it was given them not to kill them, but to sting them five months; and their sting was like the sting of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.9:6And in those days men shall seek death and not find it, and shall desire to die and death flee from them.

79:7And the forms of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle, and upon their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men,9:8and they had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like [those] of lions,9:9and they had cuirasses like steel cuirasses, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running to battle.9:10And they had tails like scorpions and stings, and in their tails was their power to injure men five months.9:11They had over them a king, an angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in the Greek he is called Apollyon.9:12One woe has passed; behold, there come yet two woes after this.

89:13And the sixth angel sounded; and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God,9:14saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Unbind the four angels bound by the river, the great Euphrates.9:15And the four angels were unbound, who were prepared for the hour, and day, and month, and year, to kill a third part of men.9:16And the number of the armies of the horse was two ten thousands of ten thousands; I heard the number of them.9:17And thus I saw the horses in the vision and those sitting on them, having cuirassess of fire, of hyacinth and of sulphur; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions, and from their mouths proceeded fire and smoke and sulphur.

99:18By these three plagues a third part of men were killed, by the fire and the smoke and the sulphur which proceeded from their mouths.9:19For the power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like serpents, having heads, and with them they did injury.9:20And the rest of men, who were not killed with these plagues, did not change their minds [to turn] from the works of their hands, not to worship demons and idols of gold and silver and brass and stone and wood, which cannot see nor hear nor walk,9:21and did not change their minds [to turn] from their murders, nor from their magic arts, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts.

110:1AND I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud, and an iris was about his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire,10:2and he had in his hand a little book opened. And he set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land,10:3and cried with a loud voice, as a lion roars. And when he cried, seven thunders spoke their words.10:4And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; and I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Seal up what the seven thunders spoke, and write it not.

210:5And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land, lifted up his right hand to heaven,10:6and swore by him that lives forever and ever, that created heaven and the things in it and the earth and the things in it and the sea and the things in it, that time should be no longer,10:7but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God shall be finished, as he told his servants the prophets.

310:8And the voice which I heard from heaven [I heard] again speak to me and say, Go and take the little opened book in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.10:9And I went to the angel, and said to him, Give me the little book. And he said to me, Take and eat it, and it will embitter your stomach, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.10:10And I took the little book from the hand of the angel and eat it; and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey; and when I eat it, my stomach was bitter.10:11And they said to me, You must prophesy again before peoples and nations and tongues and many kings.

411:1And a rod was given me like a staff, and he said, Arise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those that worship in it.11:2And leave out the exterior court of the temple and measure it not, for it has been given to the gentiles, and they shall tread the holy city under foot forty-two months [three years and a half].11:3And I will give charge to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy twelve hundred and sixty days [three years and a half] clothed with sackcloth.11:4These are the two olive trees, and the two lamps, which stand before the Lord of the earth.11:5And if any one will injure them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their adversaries; and if any one will injure them, he must thus be killed.11:6These have power to shut heaven, that it may not rain in the days of their prophecy, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to smite the earth with every plague as often as they will.

511:7And when they shall finish their testimony, the beast which ascends from the abyss shall make war with them, and conquer them, and kill them.11:8And their dead bodies shall lie in the streets of the great city, which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.11:9And the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not permit their dead bodies to be buried.11:10And those that dwell on the earth shall be glad, and rejoice over them, and shall send gifts one to another, because these two prophets tormented those that dwell on the earth.11:11And after three days and a half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those that saw them.11:12And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, Ascend hither; and they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies beheld them.11:13And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth part of the city fell, and seven thousand men were killed by the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.11:14The second woe has passed; behold, the third woe comes quickly.

111:15AND the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, the kingdom of the world has become our Lord's and his Christ's, and he shall reign forever and ever.11:16And the twenty-four elders who sit before God on their thrones fell on their faces, and worshipped God,11:17saying, We thank thee, Lord God Almighty, the Is and the Was, that thou didst take thy great power and reign,11:18and the nations were angry, and thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged and to give the reward to thy servants the prophets and to the saints and those that fear thy name, small and great, and to destroy those that destroy the earth.

211:19And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of his covenant appeared in his temple, and there were lightnings and voices and thunders and great hail.

312:1And a great symbol appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars,12:2and being with child she cried out in pain and distress to give it birth.12:3And there appeared another symbol in heaven, and behold, a great fiery dragon, having seven heads and ten horns and upon his heads seven diadems,12:4and his tail drew a third of the stars of heaven, and cast them on the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear [a child], that when she had borne he might devour her son.12:5And she bore a male child, who is about to rule all nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.12:6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they may nourish her there twelve hundred and sixty days [three years and a half].

412:7And there was a war in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting with the dragon. And the dragon fought and his angels,12:8and were not strong, neither was their place found any longer in heaven.12:9And the great dragon, the old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, and who deceives all the world, was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast [to the earth] with him.12:10And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, Now has come the salvation and power and kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ, for the accuser of the brothers, that accused them day and night before God, has been cast [to the earth].12:11And they conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and exposed their lives to death.12:12Therefore rejoice, heavens, and those who dwell in them; woe to the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing that he has a short time.

512:13And when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who bore the male child.12:14And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly to the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished a time and times and half a time [three years and a half], from before the serpent.12:15And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water like a river, that he might carry her away.12:16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.12:17And the dragon was angry with the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.

613:1And I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast come up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy.13:2And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.13:3And one of his heads [was as if] mortally wounded, and its mortal wound was healed. And all the earth wondered after the beast,13:4and they worshipped the dragon, because he gave power to the beast, and worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like the beast, and who is able to make war with him?13:5And there was given him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemy, and power was given him to continue forty-two months [three years and a half].13:6And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those that dwell in heaven.13:7And it was given him to make war with the saints and to conquer them, and power was given him over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.13:8And all who dwell on the earth shall worship him, [every one] whose name is not enrolled in the Lamb's book of life who was killed from the foundation of the world.13:9If any one has an ear let him hear.13:10If any one [leads] into captivity, he shall go into captivity; if any one kills with the sword, he shall be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and faith of the saints.

713:11And I saw another beast come up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.13:12And he exercised all the power of the first beast in his presence. And he caused the earth and those that dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed.13:13And he performs great miracles, so as even to make fire come down from heaven to the earth in the sight of men.13:14And he deceives those that dwell on the earth by the miracles which it was given him to perform before the beast, telling those that dwell on the earth to make an image of the beast which had the wound with the sword and lived.13:15And it was given him to give a spirit to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that all who would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.13:16And he caused all, small and great, and rich and poor, and freemen and servants, to receive the mark on their right hand or on their forehead,13:17and that no one should buy or sell unless he had the mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.13:18Here is wisdom. Let him that has a mind count the number of the beast; for the number is man's. And his number is six hundred and sixty-six.

114:1AND I saw, and behold, the Lamb stood on Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his father written on their foreheads.14:2And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like harpers playing on their harps.14:3And they sung a new song before the throne and before the four cherubs and the elders; and no one could learn the song except the hundred and forty-four thousand, who had been redeemed from the earth.14:4These are they who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins; these are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from men a first fruit to God and the Lamb,14:5and in their mouth was found no deceit; for they are blameless.

214:6And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having the eternal gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people,14:7saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him that made heaven and the earth and the sea and fountains of waters.

314:8And another, a second angel, followed, saying, Babylon the great has fallen, who made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

414:9And another, a third angel, followed them, saying with a loud voice, if any one worships the beast and his image, and receives the mark on his forehead or on his hand,14:10he shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, mingled undiluted in the cup of his indignation, and he shall be tormented with fire and sulphur before the angels and before the Lamb.14:11And the smoke of their torment rises up forever and ever, and they have no rest day nor night who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.14:12Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.14:13And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth. Yes, says the Spirit, they shall rest from their labors; and their works follow after them.

514:14And I saw, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud one sitting like the Son of man, having on his head a crown of gold and in his hand a sharp sickle.14:15And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Send your sickle and reap, for the time has come to harvest, for the harvest of the earth is dry.14:16And he that sat on the cloud cast his sickle upon the earth, and the earth was harvested.

614:17And another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he had a sharp sickle;14:18and another angel came out from the altar, who had power over fire, and cried with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, Send your sharp sickle and gather the grapes of the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe.14:19And the angel cast his sharp sickle on the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth and cast it into the great wine-press of the wrath of God.14:20And the wine-press was trodden without the city, and the blood went out from the wine-press to the horses' bridles, a distance of sixteen hundred stadia [158 English miles].

115:1AND I saw another symbol in heaven, great and wonderful, seven angels having the last seven plagues, because by them the wrath of God was finished.15:2And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those becoming victors over the beast and his image and the number of his name standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.15:3And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and wonderful are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, king of the nations;15:4who shall not fear thee, Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art holy, for all the nations shall come and worship before thee, for thy righteous ordinances have been made manifest.

215:5And after this I saw, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony was opened in heaven, [the inner temple],15:6and the seven angels went out who have the last seven plagues, clothed with pure bright linen, and girded about the breasts with golden girdles.15:7And one of the four cherubs gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of the God who lives forever and ever.15:8And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter into the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

316:1And I heard a loud voice saying to the seven angels, Go, pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.16:2And the first went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and there was an evil and malignant ulcer on the men who have the mark of the beast and those who worship his image.

416:3And the second poured out his bowl on the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead body, and every living soul died, the [creatures] in the sea.

516:4And the third poured out his bowl on the rivers and the fountains of waters; and they became blood.16:5And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art just, the Is and the Was, [the] Holy One, because thou hast judged thus,16:6for they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; they are worthy.16:7And I heard the altar say, Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

616:8And the fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was given it to scorch men with fire.16:9And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God who had power over these plagues, and changed not their minds to give him glory.

716:10And the fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast; and his kingdom was darkened, and they gnawed their tongues from painful labor,16:11and blasphemed the God of heaven on account of their painful labors and their ulcers, and they changed not their minds to turn from their works.

816:12And the sixth poured out his bowl on the river, the great Euphrates; and its water was dried up, that the way of the kings from the East might be prepared.16:13And I saw three impure spirits like frogs [proceed] from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet;—16:14for [these] are spirits of demons that perform miracles, that go to the kings of all the world, to assemble them for the battle of that great day of God Almighty.16:15Behold, I come as a thief; blessed is he that watches and keeps on his clothes, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.16:16And they assembled them in the place called in Hebrew Armagedon.

916:17And the seventh angel poured out his bowl on the air; and there came out a loud voice from the temple, from the throne, saying, It is done.16:18And there were lightnings and voices and thunders, and there was a great earthquake, such as has not been since a man was on the earth, such an earthquake and one so great.16:19And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of his indignant wrath.16:20And every island fled, and the mountains were not found.16:21And great hail of about the weight of a talent [the Attic talent, 56 pounds, the Jewish, 113] came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God on account of the plague of the hail because its plague was very great.

117:1AND one of the seven angels having the seven bowls came and spoke to me, saying, Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,17:2with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

217:3And he bore me away into the wilderness in the Spirit. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, [the beast] full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.17:4And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and the impurities of the fornication of the earth,17:5and on her forehead the names inscribed, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.17:6And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus, and I wondered when I saw her with great wonder.

317:7And the angel said to me, Why did you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast which carries her, having the seven heads and ten horns.17:8The beast which you saw was and is not, and is about to come up from the abyss, and goes to destruction; and those who live on the earth, whose names are not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder, when they see the beast that he was and is not and is to come.17:9Here is the mind which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits,17:10and are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he comes must continue a short time.17:11And the beast which was and is not, he also is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goes to destruction.

417:12And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have not yet received a kingdom, but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.17:13These have one will, and give their power and their authority to the beast.17:14They shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall conquer them,—for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.17:15And he said to me, The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues.17:16And the ten horns which you saw and the beast shall hate the harlot, and make her desolate and naked, and eat her flesh, and burn her with fire;17:17for God has put it into their hearts to do his will and to have one will and give their kingdom to the beast, till the words of God are finished.17:18And the woman which you saw is the great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.

518:1After this I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power, and the earth was lighted by his glory.18:2And he cried with a loud voice, saving, Babylon the great has fallen, has fallen, and has become a habitation of demons, and a haunt of every impure spirit, and a haunt of every impure and hateful bird,18:3because all nations have drank of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth became rich from the greatness of her luxury.

618:4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you may not partake of her sins, and receive of her plagues;18:5for her sins have reached to heaven and God has remembered her wickedness.18:6Render to her as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; of the cup that she has mixed, mix to her double;18:7as much as she glorified herself, and lived luxuriously, so much distress and sorrow give her. For she says in her mind, I sit a queen and am not a widow and I see not sorrow.18:8Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death and sorrow and famine, and she shall be burnt with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.

718:9And the kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her shall weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,18:10standing at a distance on account of fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, the great city, Babylon the mighty city, for in one hour your judgment has come.18:11And the merchants of the earth shall weep and lament for her, because no one buys their wares any more,18:12wares of gold and silver and precious stones and pearls, and linen and purple and silk and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and every implement of ivory and every implement of most precious wood, of brass and iron and marble,18:13cinnamon and amomum and incense and ointment and frankincense, and wine and oil and fine flour and wheat and cattle and sheep, and of horses and chariots and servants, and souls of men.18:14And the fruit of your soul's desire has gone from you, and all precious and shining stores have perished from you, and you shall find them no more.

818:15And dealers in these things, and those who became rich by her, shall stand afar off for fear of her distress, weeping and lamenting,18:16saying, Alas, alas, the great city, that was clothed with fine linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls,18:17for in one hour are so great riches made a desolation. And every sailing-master and every one who sails to the place, and sailors and all that work on the sea, shall stand afar off,18:18and looking on the smoke of its burning, cry, saying, What city is like this great city?18:19And they shall cast dust on their heads, and cry weeping and lamenting, saying, Alas, alas, the great city, by which all were enriched who had ships on the sea on account of her costly merchandise, for in one hour is it made desolate.18:20Rejoice over her, heaven, and you holy angels and apostles and prophets, for God has executed your judgment on her.

918:21And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall Babylon the great city be cast down, and shall be found no more.18:22And the voice of harpers and singers and of those that play on flutes and trumpets shall be heard in you no more. And no artisan of any art shall be found in you any more, and the sound of a mill shall be heard in you no more,18:23and the light of a candle shall shine in you no more, and the voice of a bridegroom and of a bride shall be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, for all nations were deceived by your magic arts,18:24and in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all that have been killed on the earth.

119:1AFTER this I heard a loud voice as of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Halleluia, the salvation and glory and power of our God,19:2for true and righteous are his judgments, for he has judged the great harlot who destroyed the earth with her fornication, and avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.19:3And again they said, Halleluia, and her smoke ascends forever and ever.19:4And the twenty-four elders fell down, and the four cherubs, and worshipped God who sat on the throne, saying, Amen, Halleluia.19:5And a voice came out from the throne, saying, Praise our God, all his servants and those that fear him, small and great.19:6And I heard them as the voice of a great multitude, and as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunders, saying, Halleluia, for the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.19:7Let us rejoice and be glad, and give glory to him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and his wife has prepared herself,19:8and it was given her to be arrayed in fine linen white and clean;—for fine linen represents the righteous ordinances of the saints.

219:9And he said to me, Write, Blessed are those who are called to the wedding supper of the Lamb. And he told me, These are the true words of God.19:10And I fell before his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See [that you do it] not; I am your fellow-servant and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

319:11And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat on it is called faithful and true, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.19:12And his eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems; he has a name written that no man knows except himself,19:13and he is clothed in a mantle dipped in blood, and his name is called The Word of God.19:14And the armies of heaven follow him upon white horses, clothed with fine white clean linen.19:15And out of his mouth proceeds a sharp sword, that with it he may smite the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, and he shall tread the wine-press of the indignant wrath of God Almighty.19:16And he has on the mantle and on the thigh his name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

419:17And I saw an angel standing on the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, Come, assemble yourselves to the great supper of God,19:18that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of chiliarchs and the flesh of mighty [men] and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all, both free-men and servants and both small and great.19:19And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled together to make war with him that sat on the horse and with his army.19:20And the beast was taken and with him the false prophet who performed miracles before him, with which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worship his image; and the two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with sulphur.19:21And the rest were killed with the sword of him that sits on the horse, which proceeded out of his mouth, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

520:1And I saw an angel descending from heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.20:2And he took the dragon, which is the old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,20:3and cast him into the abyss, and shut him up and put a seal over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years were finished; after that he must be released a short time.

620:4And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given them, and the souls of those who have been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and the word of God, and who did not worship the beast nor his image and did not receive the mark on their forehead and on their right hand; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years;20:5the rest of the dead did not live till the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.20:6Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection; on these the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and Christ, and reign with him a thousand years.

720:7And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be released from his prison,20:8and go forth to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, the Gog and the Magog [the king and the people], and to assemble them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.20:9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the encampment of the saints and the beloved city; and fire came down from heaven and consumed them.20:10And the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and sulphur, where also the beast and the false prophet [were cast], and they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.

120:11AND I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it, from whose presence the earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.20:12And I saw the dead, great and small, stand before the throne, and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is of life. And the dead were judged from the things written in the books according to their works.20:13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged each according to their works.20:14And Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.20:15And whoever was not found enrolled in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

221:1And I saw a new heaven and new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea was no more.21:2And I saw the holy city New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.21:3And I heard a loud voice from heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will tabernacle with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, their God,21:4and he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, nor shall lamentation nor crying nor pain be any more, for the former things have passed away.

321:5And he that sits on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said, Write that these words are faithful and true.21:6And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that thirsts of the fountain of the water of life freely.21:7He that conquers shall inherit these things, and I will be to him a God and he shall be to me a son.21:8But the fearful and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.

421:9And one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the last seven plagues came, and spoke with me, saying, Come, I will show you the wife, the bride of the Lamb.21:10And he bore me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the city, the holy Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,21:11having the glory of God; its luminary was like the most precious stone, like a crystalline jasper.21:12It had a great and high wall, it had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names inscribed, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.21:13On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.21:14And the wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

521:15And he that spoke with me had a golden measuring rod, to measure the city and its gates and its wall.21:16And the city was square, and its length equal to its breadth. And he measured the city with the rod, twelve thousand stadia [1372 English miles]; and the length and breadth and height of it are equal.21:17And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, which was of the angel.21:18And the building of its wall was jasper, and the city was of pure gold like clear glass.21:19And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone; the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,21:20the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardine stone, the seventh chrysolyte, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh hyacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.

621:21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each of the gates was of one pearl. And the street of the city was of pure gold, transparent as glass.21:22And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb.21:23And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to give a light to it; for the glory of God lights it, and its light the Lamb.21:24And the nations shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory to it,21:25and its gates shall not be shut by day,—for there shall be no night there,—21:26and they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.21:27And there shall not enter into it any thing that is defiled, nor any one that commits an abomination and falsehood, but those enrolled in the Lamb's book of life.

722:1And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and the Lamb.22:2In the midst of its broad plain and along the river on each side was the tree of life, bearing twelve fruits, and yielding monthly each of its fruits, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.22:3And no curse shall be there any more. And the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him,22:4and shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads.22:5And there shall be no night, and they shall have no need of a lamp and light, for the Lord God shall shed light on them, and they shall reign forever and ever.

822:6And he said to me, These words are faithful and true, and the Lord God of the spirits of the prophets sent his angel to show his servants what must shortly occur.22:7Behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.

922:8And I am John who heard and saw these thing; and when I heard and when I saw I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things.22:9And he said to me, See [that you do it] not; for I am your fellow servant and of your brothers the prophets and of those that keep the words of this book; worship God.22:10And he said to me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; the time is at hand.22:11Let the unjust be unjust still, and let the filthy be filthy still, and let the righteous do righteousness still, and let the holy be made holy still.

1022:12Behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every one as his work is.22:13I am the Alpha and the Omega, first and last, the beginning and end.22:14Blessed are they that keep his commandments, that they may have a right to the tree of life, and enter by the gates into the city.22:15Without are dogs and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers and idolaters and whoever loves and practises falsehood.

1122:16I Jesus sent my angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and offspring of David, and the bright star of the morning.22:17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that thirsts, come; let him that will, take the water of life freely.

1222:18I testify to every one that hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If any one adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues written in this book;22:19and if any one takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and the holy city, described in this book.22:20He that testifies these things says, Yes, I come quickly. Amen, come Lord Jesus.22:21The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.
