i. e.Behold Pharaoh! He isthe heavenly Horus, the powerful bull, the son of Khepera[17]. He isRamses II., the king of Upper and Lower Egypt, the golden Horus, who abounds in yearsandis great in victories. He isthe Sun's offspring, Ramses II., who issued from theSun'sloins to receive the diadems of Rā. It is hewho brought forth himself[18]as sole rulerandlord of the two countries[Egypt],Ramses II., the Sun's offspring, Ramses II., the gloriousimageof Rā, nowand forever.

South Face[EASTERN COLUMN].

i. e.Behold Pharaoh! He isthe heavenly Horus, the powerful bull, beloved of Mā.[19]He isRamses II., the king of Upper and Lower Egypt, the lord of festivals, who islike his father Ptah of Memphis.[20]He isthe Sun's offspring, Ramses II., a godhimself,the morning-star of the two countries, who is wellversed in the lawsandawe inspiring inhisworks. He isthe lord of the two countries[Egypt],Ramses II., the Sun's offspring Ramses II., who gives life.

South Face[WESTERN COLUMN].

i. e.Behold Pharaoh! He isthe heavenly Horus, the powerful bull, the son of Rā. He isRamses II., the king of Upper and Lower Egypt, the lord of the VultureandUræus diadems, who protects Egyptandsmites theforeignnations. He isthe Sun's offspring, Ramses II., a kind ruler like Rā, .......... the lord of the two countries[Egypt],Ramses II., the Sun's offspring, Ramses II., nowand forever.
