THE RAIN
One Tuesday morning it rained.
It rained harder and harder.
Tiddly Winks said, “Will the children sing?”
He said, “They cannot sing about blue skies.”
He said, “Can they sing to-day?”
The School Room Clock said, “Wait and see.”
The Waste Basket said, “They will sing.”
The School Bell did not mind the rain.
He sang as usual, “ding, dong.”
