17th.—Sc. 11 ch., sc. in every loop until you come to the 5 dc.; then✕4 ch., sc. through every loop,✕to the last 5 dc. Make the second end to correspond with the first.
Those who crochet very loosely should use a hook still smaller than the one I have recommended; as the collar, to look well, should be done very tightly.
