INITIALS IN EMBROIDERY[Fig. 3.]

Materials.—Ingrain red and white embroidery cotton, No. 70 for linen, No. 80 for cambric.

These Initials should be marked on the material, and then worked in the white cotton in raised satin stitch, after which a thread is to berun entirely round the work, and sewed over in red very closely indeed.

Every angle and point must be made with the utmost accuracy, as on this the beauty of the letters greatly depends.
