There must be a check on the ever-widening inequality between the richest and the poorest, or our social structure will not endure; we shall have revolution, not evolution; cataclysm, not growth.... In some of the old world countries the inequality is ofsuch long growth that one can hardly imagine its breaking up without violence. With us it is not yet adamantine. Pray God it never may be.
